Kaev and I will probably have to get our own we won't be able to come for all 4 days, probably flying to Vegas on Friday or driving Saturday morning depending on how we decide to get there. :)

Yeah I think the package deal is a bad idea.  No reason to put somebody through the trouble of organizing that, especially since there are already differing opinions about price ranges and whatnot.

If we pick a general area to stay in, I think we should be good.  Everybody should get a hotel ON the strip, so we're all close together and have easy access to most everything.  Here's a really good view of the layout:
      http://www.lasvegasmaps.com/stripmap.html
Should be noted that the Sahara, Hilton, Harrah's, Flamingo (sort of), Bally's and MGM Grand all have Monorail stops.  Obviously the Hilton and Sahara are pretty far away.

edit: and shayk im not rooming with you at that POS =P

I think we're looking at the Flamingo for us, I'd like to confirm the 22nd - 25th.  Last chance to suggest different weekend, but that seems to work the best for most willing to go.

DUDE!  Shayk.. the only one who will room with you there is maybe matt

Kaev and I are thinking Flamingo as well but we aren't sure how many nights yet and yes Fish is right organizing a package deal would be a pain in the ass, idk who would even want to do it :)

I'm interested in going as well. I would most likely try to stay at whatever hotel the majority of us are staying at. Is the 22nd -25th a go?

Im good to go for Oct 22-25 but may adjust the days if I can't get out of work on a weekday or two. Ive stayed at the Mirage recently and had a great experience although it is pretty far to one end. Years ago I stayed at the flamingo and it was nice. The Flamingo and Caesar's are right in the middle of the strip which can be nice. Getting around the strip is very easy though so dont stress too much about where on the strip we stay.

No idea if I could make this or not. The trip would be right around when my midterms will be.

No one is staying at our house (Nan and I that is). This is gonna be a cheap vacation mwuaha.
But yeah it is cheaper to stay during the week, if you plan on staying on the Strip.

As we get closer to being 4-5 months out we will start to see room rate specials of $150 for the 5-star hotels and under $100 for 4-star hotels.  The Billagio is currently in the $150s for the next few months under the specials they are currently running.  We should wait and watch for specials to open up for our time period.

there are some really great hotels a little more searching i did found some a little off the strip but with really reeally nice rooms for about the same price as some of the best ones, Think i found one for about 3.5g for 8-9 days and it was a nice room

      19th-26th
NY Hotel AU$3,239.68  for Spa Suite
      Mandalay Bay AU$3,887.80 for 600 SS-Suite
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay AU$3,712.65 for Deluxe Suite (sweet sweet looking room)

I checked out the flamingo but they didnt have any photos of the rooms i could find and some of the other hotels just wernt my style at all. I really really like THEhotel, room is big just dont know the location on the strip

In all honesty, how much time are you planning on staying in your room?  I have only been there once on someone else's dime and we stayed at Paris.  I spent more time at the clubs and casinos than I did sleeping.  I am not suggesting you stay in a place you are going to worry about catching fleas, but going over the top is a bit crazy.  I would also suggest that some sort of itinerary get planned out for at least a couple of the days.

All you really need in a room is clean running water and A/C so you can sleep; the rest is extra cash you can use to gamble =p

The biggest trick will be staying in touch as a group, if people are staying in different places. Not everyone will necessarily be able to check the forums =o

Goof's right.  Don't overwork the hotel thing too much =P
Location is fairly important, and being on the strip pretty much guarantees your place won't be terrible.  As for a basic itinerary, we should definitely make a few plans such as:  a large dinner one night, a specific club to go to on a specific night, and 2 or more specific casino outings.  I'm not sure if there's any "attractions" that we might be interested in, but I'll look into it.

Norg, as for staying in touch, my best recommendation is Twitter (http://twitter.com/).  It may take some getting used to, but head on over to their web site and take a look.  It's basically a conference call for text messaging.  You can send text messages (from the internet or your phone) to everybody's phone.

      Shedari, can I watch?

Arrith: I am not sure where to find pics of the Flamingo.  What I can tell you is that it's probably the least-nice hotel on the strip.  It's no motel, though.  It's what you'd expect from a competant hotel.  The rooms aren't very ornate, but they're decent size.  The biggest thing about the Flamingo, and why I recommend it, is that it's cheaper than all the hotels surrounding it, and they are all in the very center of the strip.

Edit: lastly, can we sticky this and modify the original post to include the dates (which should be firm by now) and a list of those attending?

Yeah i might reconsider hotels closer to the date but i can get the hotel and plain flight in a package and save about 1200, which is great.. but also im going to be there longer then everyone so i want a comfortable room...... for drugs and hookers

Heres a list of people coming and possiblities and date, just paste into orignal post to save ya some hassle malki :)
edit: a planed group dinner and few nights gambling and getting shitfaced would be good ;)

In all seriousness, file me under "possible" right now. Don't know what my schedule is going to look like.  Have to work out some details first and even see if Vegas is something I'd do.  A big worry of mine (honestly) is it's going to just be a bunch of WOW talk.  Not gonna pay for a flight/hotel just to talk about how stupid shamans are in person.  =x

If I go, honestly the biggest thing I'd be interested in would be the shows.  Not really a gambling person.

Im also pritty keen to see some of the shows there to shed, Aswell as some of the other sites and sounds (I dont gamble much, never have, Not saying I wont just dont do it much heh).

      Also you fucking suck shayk.
