| They call it "hacking" when you steal someone's password? That's fucking wonky. Have my doubts that a 43-year old woman actually "hacked" the account... pretty ridiculous. |

Bah the news don't surprise me much since virtual life has an important place in some of the asian cultures now, and virtual properties has laws(In this game you can buy items with real money).
You can't kill a player in this game, she actually deleted her online "husband" and he lost all the money spent on his character + the time played on it (In the later levels it can take a month to level up)
And Wired isn't wording the accusations the right way, click the link to the AP: "The woman, who is jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his identification and password to log onto popular interactive game "Maple Story" to carry out the virtual murder in mid-May[...]" |
